The food is quite good, but it is always, always cold!! I have ordered burgers, omelettes and even soup and the food never arrives hot!! I complained to the manager who acknowledged that there is an issue with the temperature of the food.He assured me that they were working on the problem. I gave it several weeks and then returned. Guess what? Same problem!! This was even after I asked my server to make sure the food arrived hot. There is no excuse for this. One time is understandable. Every time? Just imcompetent. I am wondering if others have had the same experience?

It seems many of the people complaining on this site were just fishing for free stuff to begin with (especially the caesar lady). Trust me restaurants don't want your business anyhow if your just there to complain and get complimentary food. I have a great experience every time I visit this location.

I've been there a couple times and after I saw a mouse there I refuse to eat there. I can't help but like their bellinis and take advantage of their weekday drink specials but NEVER again will I eat there. A mouse ran across the floor and they did NOTHING. They came over to ask if everything was ok. Unfortunately, my collegues were drunk off their asses and thought it was funny but I made it clear it was not ok with me. They didn't comp us or offer an explanation at all. They just walked off and ignored my complaint because I was the only person unhappy. This was at the John and Richmond location. I've had friends who have also seen mice at the Mississauga location as well. DO NOT eat there!

I'm simply trying to make a dinner reservation at the Milestones located at Yonge/Dundas Square....and have been on hold for the last 15mins.

Hopefully this isn't an indicator as to how the service will be on a Saturday night....already regreting our decision to want to dine here.

Tonight I brought my uncles to this location to celebrate a birthday dinner.
I have eaten at this location at least three times, including once with one of my uncles.
Previous to this evening - all my experiences were excellent.
Tonight I had the worst experience I have ever had with a waiter and manager at a chain restaurant - ever.

After trying to order the 4 for $4 drink special with our drink of choice being Ceasers.
I had the waiter tell me that it was rail drinks only - to which I replied vodka is a rail liquor.
The conversation progressed like this:
waiter - a Ceaser is a cocktail ..
me - made with one oz according to your menu it is 1 oz rail liquor on sale here...can you confirm with the bartender you can't make a Ceaser?

waiter comes back - no we can't - trust me the management is not going to move on this...I agree with you but who am I? A middle aged waiter is a chain restaurant. (except we could see the bar from our table and he didn't go ask the bartender)
me - can I speak to the manager? I know you can't do anything for us.

The manager Brennan shows up and tells me Ceasers' are cocktails.
I point out that the menu is false advertising - a Ceaser is a 1 oz drink with a rail liquor, with a bar mix and flavouring. Like a Gin & tonic with lime cordial or a Vodka & Orange, or a Vodka & Cranberry (also known as Screwdrivers and Cap cods their Cocktail names)
Brennan then tells me that he can get me a vodka & clamato drink if that is what I want or would I like the salt rim, the celery and the Worcester Sauce? A tad bit condescending to say the least.
All this grief for $12- basically the cost of one martini - and we all know managers have promo tabs they can use for this very kind of thing.

He could have told me - you know I see that you have misunderstood our menu - let me get this round of drinks, explain it to you clearly so you understand and he would have got the $120+ we spent on dinner at Woo beside them when we walked out.

I personally have worked in the restaurant industry for the past 15+ plus years as a waitress, bartender or manager and I have never dealt with a customer in this fashion.
I currently still work as a bartender on weekends while working for Canwest Global - they book large parties regularly at various restaurants in the area and our sales staff regularly entertain clients in the area. Guess where I am not going to recommend they go?

The whole experience was pitiful and put a damper on the evenings celebrations.
Perhaps Milestones wants to bring Brenan up to speed on how to handle customers and clear up the wording on your menu for future reference.

I can't comment on the tone of voice, combatative nature or general customer service experience you received (all of which I'm sure was inappropriate and annoying), but I can say that it's fairly common knowledge that Ceasars are definitely NOT a "rail drink".

Yes, it's only an ounce or two of Vodka which is a "rail" liquor. However, it's the other ingredients and process/time involved that also counts. You're a bartender so I'm sure you know.

I'm really not trying to defend this place but I find it strange that you walked out because of this one little issue. I mean, c'mon. It's not a jack and coke. It's not a screwdriver. It's a premium cocktail on most menus...really not that big of a deal!

We are on Milestone Dundas and Yonge on Sunny day of May 21st.

We reserved the ourdoor cafe but was a little bit windy for
my girlfriend. They changed us to inside without no problem
with very pleasant manner.

Lunch started my favarite Mimosa with Rasberry, they make
best champgaine Mimosa in Town.

Then we tried very famouns Kobe mini berger, these were out
of this world. We are highly recommend to everyone not
even berger crazy.

The service was very very tentative and very nice waiter
his name was Derrick. My girlfriend spilled the caramel source on blouse Derrick brought us the soda water to take
off the stain. Derrick went more than he needs to and that
makes our dining very very pleasant . That was a very enjoyable Thursday lunch.

Thanks.

I made a reservation for 3 people and tried to change it to 5 and they couldn't do it. The person answering the phone was inexperienced and kept asking what time I wanted to change it too even after I told her the name and time over and over.

Don't blame the hostess for your lack of organization. It is extremely difficult to rearrange a reservation when you change the number of people. Did you ever think that it is possible they were fully booked at the time for large parties over 4 people? Most restaurants do not have seating for 5 people, so they must take tables of 4 and either cap it or add another table. And in many instances you cannot just cap a booth or table because it then becomes a fire hazard and a hazard to the serving staff. Before you complain about the hostess's try to keep in mind, changes make everything much harder for them, and if they are filled with large parties of anywhere from 8ppl to 35 ppl it often cannot be rearrange, unless you choose a different time

Milestones is a corporate restaurant, but it's a good one. The Dundas Square location is exceptional...one of the best patios (if not THE best) in the city of Toronto.
Good things...
The Kobe Sliders
The Atmosphere (fancy, yet relaxed and hip)
The host that sat me (Thanks for being so pleasant)
The awesome bathroom (need a nice, clean spot to do your business)
Things to work on...
Our server was a little off (not attentive - more a pub service rather than restaurant - still friendly).
The salads need improving (big, but flavourless).

I would definitely come back and recommend it to all readers.

John and Richmond is the best location. All the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. My boyfriend and I always come to the bar to our fav tall, blonde waitress Emily. She is awesome!!

My fav food item is the seafood salad, tonnes of seafood!! My boyfriend always gets whatever special they have going which is usually steak and seafood which he really enjoys.

Check it out people, seriously great place to relax and enjoy someone's company or to go before the club for a few martinis!

I have been a frequent customer of Milestones, both the John and Richmond restaurant and now the Yonge and Dundas location. I think their menu is fabulous; haven't tried anything I didn't like yet. Absolutely delicious. Also, I think they have the best eggs benedict in town. Simply love their brunch on weekends. I would highly recommend it.

I am working my way through their extensive, brilliant menu.
Everything is extremely well prepared. The 'meatloaf' dinner is extraordinary. One of my favourites so far.
Must make reservations a day ahead, no exceptions.
Great atmosphere, especially during the warm months of spring, summer and early fall as they have a rather expansive patio overlooking Yonge Street that stretches one city block. It also has heaters on the patio for those cool fall nights.
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Although it doesn't tell you anywhere on their website, I was just informed by their staff, that they do not take reservations for dining the same day.

You must call at least a day in advance. Would have been nice to have known that before hand.

Incase you ever wanted to know, Milestone's Yorkdale location does take small reservations of 2 -4 people on the day of, so long as they are not fully booked already :)

I think we've eaten at every Milestones and find it is consistently good. It's a great place to take kids as well. Whenever there is a problem, the manager is always attentive and graciously gives us coupons for the spinach dip and offers us dessert on the house. It's why we keep coming back. I recently tried this location with five co-workers. All the food came out at the same time, and everyone enjoyed their dish. Nice decor and great location.
